35th Art Exhibition May 2019

Dear Member

 

A reminder and a few thoughts about the 35th Art Exhibition which this year will take place on Saturday and Sunday the 25th and 26th May, with the Preview evening for members and their guests to be held on Friday 24th May commencing at 6.30 pm.

 

We have a number of new members, both experienced and beginners and we hope you will all enter examples of your work.   For all members, whether new or long standing, it is hoped that you will all exhibit the maximum number of paintings allowed, which will remain the same as in previous years with up to five paintings, either framed or canvas , and with five unframed paintings  also allowed.  Miniature paintings will also be welcomed with a maximum painting size no bigger that 6 inches by 4 inches, with no  limit on number,

 

As well as the framed and unframed paintings you may enter as many cards as you wish.   Commission on sales remain as before being 15% on Paintings and 10% on Cards.

 

The Exhibition this year will be judged by Rosemary Ensor, who takes her inspiration from natural forms and landscapes, producing abstract oil and mixed media canvasses in her studio near Ideford. Rosemary also creates figurative images using life drawing sessions in charcoal pastel or ink as a starting point for these bold and exciting abstracts. She will judge all categories, which this year will be Watercolour, Oil, Mixed Media, Acrylic, Pastel, Miniature, Drawing and Best Floral Art.  After the judging Rosemary will announce winning entries and runners up for each category, with comments about each one.

Your ideas were much appreciated and the winning entry will be used to advertise the Exhibition.
